The next reunion will be our fiftieth and therefore it’s fitting that we return to Bournemouth. It will take place from Friday 2nd October 2026 to Sunday 4th October 2026.

Some time away I know, but I thought you would like a little more information about the 2026 reunion.

Firstly some excellent news. After some persuasive words from your Chairman, I am delighted to let you know that Patrick will be joining us for the weekend in Bournemouth. Great news – thanks Patrick.

I have booked rooms as per my last missive – now 7 single occupancy and 3 twin rooms. This is in the Carlton Hotel on East Cliff. You all know it and it’s a good location for us. The rates for the room are:

Single occupancy £109/night including breakfast.

Shared Room £119/night including breakfasts.

Car parking is free!!

I have booked a table at Cosy Club in Christchurch Road for the Friday evening meal at 7.30pm. So plenty of time for a catch up and pre-dinner drinks beforehand.

The Saturday morning activity starts at 10.30 and will require transport. As there are 13 of us, all being well 3 cars will probably suffice, 4 preferably. I will be driving, so if others who will be coming by car could also please let me know that would be reassuring to know we can manage between us.

After the activity we return to the hotel and can wander into Lansdowne, where of course the college was. There is an Irish Pub, an O’Neills, there – it’s what was in our day the Lansdowne Hotel. Sadly the Gander on the Green is no more. It became a Wetherspoons in 2009 – The Christopher Creeks – and has since closed altogether. We can free flow there, I have not booked any tables.

After that I am planning a cultural visit followed by a walk around the seafront and town and some old haunts (although many are no longer in existence!).

As usual we will have our formal dinner in the hotel on Saturday evening – there is a very nice room (the Library) booked for this purpose. I have menu choices sorted and will get them to you nearer the time to select your choices.

For now, I simply ask that each of you acknowledge receipt of this email and also if you are driving advise me of car availability.
